At aproximate 11:30 PM on the evening of April 22, 2000, the Philadelphia police department arrested 83 people participating in a dog-fighting event at a garage on North 19th street.� They had two undercover officers at the event in order to catch two police officers who were also participating.

PASPCA was called to meet the police at a undisclosed location where all involved with the raid were updated on what was going on. The arrest went into Easter morning.

A total of 83 people were arrested but only 81 were formally charged. Reports state that there were minors present as well.� Most of the defendants pleaded guilty or were found guilty, although a few are still running.

The animals seized were: 1 Rottweiler and three pit bulls from inside the garage and 8 were removed from inside of vehicles.

All the animals siezed were euthanized.
