A 68-year-old LaPorte man faces a possible charge of animal cruelty after allegedly shooting and injuring a puppy on the evening of June 26 when it walked onto his property.
At about 6:30 p.m., the man allegedly shot the puppy in the leg with a BB gun, which sent the dog limping back home to its owners, according to LaPorte City Police.
The man, who will not be identified unless he is charged, told officers he shot the dog because it was on his property and hed had trouble with neighbors dogs coming into his yard and ruining his landscaping in the past.
He was issued a ticket for firing a projectile within city limits. The possible animal-cruelty charge is pending. References | Herald-Argus |
