Police are investigating a case of animal cruelty in which a Bendigo family's pet dog was left hanging from a tree to choke to death. Molly, a two-year-old foxy cross, disappeared from her Happy Valley Road home in Bendigo on June 28.
She was found hanging in a tree in parkland just metres from her home on July 4.
A woman out walking discovered the dog, and police were contacted.
Police have launched an investigation into the callous act, and are calling for public help.
Bendigo Police Senior Constable Bill Fleming said it was a particularly disturbing crime.
"This is aggravated cruelty. The dog has suffered - they have tied a rope to her collar, and hung her in such a way that she has been choked to death."
He appealed for anyone with information about Molly's death to contact police. Phone Bendigo Police on 5440 2510, or Crime Stoppers on (1800) 333 000. References« Back to Search Results
