A Hall County man was charged with cruelty to animals and reckless conduct for allegedly shooting his neighbor's dog with a shotgun. William R. Wiley was was charged on July 29 related to the killing of his neighbor's two-year-old pit bull.
Distant relative Freda Wiley said her dog "Patch" wandered onto the defendant's property and got tangled with his dog. She said that after the owners separated the dogs, Wiley went into his house to get a shotgun.
She told a judge that she begged her neighbor not to shoot the dog to no avail.
Georgia law prohibits the killing of animals unless it is necessary to defend property.
Hall County Magistrate Elizabeth Reisman said she saw no justification for the shooting. References |
